NCAEE Kick Off Event for 2013-2014

High Point University's elementary education majors started off the semester right; joining together to celebrate NCAEE membership with an ice-cream social!  There are many benefits of being a member of this organization as the students quickly found out, they also learned about upcoming events while engaging in a School of Education raffle!

About NCAEE

The North Carolina Association of Elementary Educators (NCAEE), founded in fall 2005, is the only professional organization in North Carolina—and one of two in the nation—established expressly to advocate for and serve elementary educators and elementary level children. The goals of NCAEE are to:
  • promote professionalism
  • provide opportunities for leadership
  • provide opportunities for networking with other elementary educators
  • serve as a voice/advocate for elementary educators and children
  • provide resources that support elementary educators
  • develop and maintain partnerships for teacher education (e.g., among personnel of state agencies, state and national associations, public and independent schools, and colleges and universities)
  • promote awareness of practices based on scientific research
  • promote rigor in instruction
NCAEE offers the annual Elementary School Conference in October of each year. The 10th Annual Elementary School Conference will be held on October 20 - 22, 2013 at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, NC. Make plans now to attend!

First Annual Outreach Project

HPU NCAEE cohort members will gather together on four separate occasions to paint literacy stools for every teacher at Florence Elementary.  The teachers will most certainly be surprised to receive the stools when the HPU NCAEE cohort members arrive in their NCAEE tee-shirts and descend upon all of the classrooms at once to make the surprise delivery!

Up and Coming Painting Dates for the Annual Outreach Project:

  • September 25th - 3:30pm
  • October 2nd - 3:30pm
  • October 24 - 4:00pm (dinner will be served)
  • November 6th - 3:30pm
All painting sessions will take place at High Point Friends Meeting located at 800 Quaker Lane.

On November 13th at 1:00pm, cohort members will make a surprise delivery to Florence Elementary School.

NCAEE Membership!

If you are not already a member of the NCAEE do would not waste anytime in doing so! The cost is only $15.00 per year (October 1 - October 1) and that allows you to be a member as well as attend all of the on campus (FUN!!) meetings and outside activities involved with the organization. This is a top notch organization that will stand out on your resume as you begin your job search after college.
